Merry Christmas

Not sure why the Cardinal is associated with Christmas in North America. Probably because it is red and also present all year, including the winter, at least in Eastern NA. Same reasons why the European Robin is associated with Christmas in the UK?
They show up so well against the bare branches - a welcome touch of color in the otherwise grey of winter. Merry Christmas, Anne.

Oh, what a beauty. Did you know that the number one bird in the national bird count in the US was the cardinal? That surprised me.
