This heron found a little bit of open water to fish in. I feel sorry for them this time of year. Being harassed by a photographer also doesn't help, but I could not resist a few quick shots. He didn't fly off, but definitely knew I was there.
Definitely echo Ethel's comment. Was thinking of you the first really cold morning last week when I put on my nice warm mittens (was 80 yesterday and supposed to be 29 tomorrow morning so I'll have them out again!)
