Sepia windmill with fog by antonios

Sepia windmill with fog

Foggy afternoon to photograph on a uniform background.
Without fog, the photo would not have the same strength, because there are houses and trees and even if it used a high aperture to blur the background.
Very unusual kind of windmill for me to see. =)

@marlboromaam It is a traditional Portuguese mill. They were used to grind cereals and produce flour.
Now they no longer have this function, but many have been recovered and are a tourist attraction. some are even used as tourist accommodation.

@antonios Very interesting information. I wonder why they can't be converted to produce a little power. Never got to Portugal when we were stationed overseas, but I did see the windmills in Holland. That's why these are so unusual to me. They are lovely nonetheless!

@marlboromaam The configuration ( probably ) does not allow for the conversion to produce energy. That's why we have here the landscape full of modern wind turbines !!!!
