Mass tourism

(Sometimes) it's not too much tourism, it's tourism concentrated on the same dates. This needs to change to have local and global sustainability.

@ankers70 Even those who travel feel the pressure, tourism in societies with more purchasing power is more democratic than in the 20th century, but the countries that "emit" most tourists have to adjust people's calendars. It is no different from the responsibility they have in emitting pollution onto the planet.
I also travel and at the same time I live in a tourist area and I feel the pressure.

I am troubled by these matters all the time. I am a retired environmental planner so these issues have underpinned my practice as well as my life concerns. Now I am retired I can travel but it often has an uneasy edge to it. Like you I feel the pressure.
