I love palm trees. And even though the northeast has its own beauty, I still bemoan the fact that palm trees will not grow where I live. (Although I have been reading up on a tree called the Wind Mill Palm Tree which is more hardy than the ones that grow in Florida, so maybe there is hope that one day I'll have my very own palm tree in my back yard!) Anyway, there is a company that produces Caribbean food entrees near where I live and I've always admired the landscaping around the building. Recently, they have added artificial palm trees to the landscaping which ought not to look as cute as they do, but somehow it works. They light the palm trees up at night. While I don't think I will be putting up an artificial palm tree in my back yard, I do smile when I pass the ones at this building. The other half of this story is that I got to experiment with some night-time settings on my camera last night when my husband and I went over to take pictures of the lit-up palm trees. For five years I have been trying to take pictures of Christmas lights with no luck. Now, thanks to 365 and the palm trees to practice with, I have discovered some settings that may help me out next Christmas.
YEah, you did it. I lived in FL and had several palm trees in my yard and hated them. So much work to keep up with them. I'm a big shade tree kinda girl, but they do have their charm in beach towns when I don't have to trim them. Great night shot of your light up palm. Nailed it!
