I had planned to work on restoring the small pond, which is also being enlarged a little, but it was raining, lightly and intermittently this morning. When it stopped everything was far too wet to do work in the garden. I have decided to cut back some of the larger shrubs in the curved border as some of them are getting very large and are obscuring some of the small plants.
I thought the Ceanothus shrub would make a good picture for today, but whilst photographing some of its flowers, this insect, (looks like a Hoverfly) decided it wanted to be in the picture too.
