I couldn't resist playing with my new colouring media and Vikki's tulips were irresistible 😊

Must now look at some tutorials on how to use these waxy pastel crayons to get the best out of them!!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I wouldn’t have the first clue how to start with pastels. This is a terrific photo of the tulips in the vase. Painting it could not have been easy and I’m looking forward to some more of your creations using this medium

@wakelys tutorial says to use baby oil (!) to help blending!!
@grammyn so far so much like wax crayons, but www says can grind them up and paint as an oil!!!
@theredcamera I'm sure could have been neater, but had an urge to daub and as plans for day were scuppered I took a break from reading and took myself to my, soon to be dismantled, "studio' for an hour!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I had to stop what I was doing and experiment with the baby oil - it works. Great tip.

Oil pastels are fun to work with. They are much cleaner than soft pastels. Lovely colours. A clear glass vase is not such an easy subject to chose first up.
