I climbed over the kid's crap to get to some of my art stuff. Went in the garden, put tutorial on YouTube on my tablet, participated in Pop Master on the radio, used a table knife and Avon's Skin-so-Soft and my half price textured paper.
Lessons learned? Don't use textured paper with pastels, just do a screenshot of the end of the YouTube tutorial and copy that, have the correct tools and materials and finally don't ask for feedback from spouse!
Casablanca- I did rubbish in Pop Master but did got three in ten quicker than the contestant!!
What did you do with the table knife and the lotion ?
Well... I love that you dared trying the oil pastels out. I cannot give any advice at all. And I have no idea what to comment on the result. I know I like the pink flowers that are more ghostly. I think you shouldn't put pink or red on top of green - should you? I mean, shouldn't you have first done the blossoms on the paper surface and then come in with the background? I have no clue.
Again: I love it that you took some time for yourself and I really hope you enjoyed the time.
@monikozi Thank you. Yup! Shouldn't have followed the tutorial, as they did the background first, then I couldn't rescue it.
Knife and oil used to blend on my tile and on the paper.
I had fun being in the garden, just arting.
@annied another genre I'm daubing with, with absolutely NO idea of rights and wrongs of techniques, but Van Gogh got away with making it up as he went along!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond As I have never used this medium before I have no words of advice for you. I feel like you did an excellent job and since you seem to have learned some things from it it was not a wasted effort! So proud of you for finding your art supplies in the storage
see how much you enjoyed it? @30pics4jackiesdiamond dave should have taken a photo of you climbing over kid's crap to get your arty stuff. who puts arty stuff at the back anyway!
