The Royal Oak is arguably the most photographed, and painted, pub in the country, because of its proximity to the mill, the beautiful reflections in the harbour and tourists will buy cheesy prints.
No-one will want a copy of this, but it's been good practice for me and I've certainly improved on one I did last year so I'm making progress.
I copied a photo I took at low tide, so reflection from imagination.
@wakelys I'll frame it for you for your birthday!! @monikozi@monikozi high praise indeed thank you @serendypyty thank you Carole, the buildings are not really that wonky though!! @grammyn I copied from a photo I took and then just turned it upside down, the reflections are not quite right
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - i was just thinking to ask you how you're faring with this project. this is great, especially with the random reflections. aces!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - haven't gotten back into the mood to paint after the taxes. i'm browsing our assignments list to see what i can start with to get my mojo back. maybe i should do the pub but we'll see.
@summerfield sorry mojo gone, taxes can do that I hear!!! @salza it's a bit tentative, think I'll look at a few cheesy prints and see how they were done!!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - okay, i looked at the pub photos i have. big project, too daunting for me, i want something simple yet with ooomph. no flowers though. 😜 i have so many projects lined up in my head, i should clear all the data in there.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - no, just that i have to have the adequate amount of patience, plus i have to be in that artistic mode. but if i want to get back into the groove of things, i got to start slow, and the subject is simple enough, and easy to get me going, then i can move into "attack" mode on another project. you know what i mean, jelly bean? you on the other hand have all the enthusiasm tackling your projects, it's enviable really (the opposite is i am, as the people around me here tells me, "anal").
@summerfield nooo, I'm newly retired, still learning how to fill my time and do my best not to do housework. Also had s tooth out yesterday, and it started to hurt again after lunch so to take my mind off it, sat and drew then coloured in!!!
@monikozi @monikozi high praise indeed thank you
