i completely forgot that i suck at painting flowers and leaves which took me the whole afternoon to do. i can't even do a decent butterfly silhouette! thankfully, i convinced myself yesterday when my sister and i passed by michael's to get me a couple of those teeny-tiny watercolour brushes.
itiofd, i just looked at the finished painting in the tutorial. i am lazy and impatient. i know i should have listened to the dudette (hazel? rachel? was that her name?) else i could've done better, but no! i just went ahead and painted.🤣
i could've done this in acrylic but i thought what's the point, i suck at painting flowers and leaves! however, i did this the way i'd do in acrylic, i.e., i did the door and background first then the wisteria.
@summerfield I started mine and wanted to do the same thing. Paint the door first and then the flowers. But I started with the flowers. I still have a ways to go and hope to possibly finish mine tomorrow. I don’t see anything wrong with yours and I’m not quite sure why you are beating yourself up I even like the butterflies

Your painting is at least as good as the others in the series. Hadn't I read that you painted the flowers on top of the door, I wouldn't even have noticed.
Then, extra points for doing this in watercolour, which is not your preferred medium, as I get it.
Some extra points on giving flowers a go, although you admit they are a challenge.
More extra points for buying extra brushes for this!!!
Even more extra points for doing this by only looking at the finished painting.

So, congratulations for a really good result. I noticed that some of your petals fell, giving that real feel to the scene.

You did a beautiful painting, there is depth in your flowers, you made a good door and your shadows aren’t all over the place. Mission accomplished 🤗
