River Avon Salisbury week five - 31-1

Week five of my personal project of taking a photo from the same place on the same day, when possible, and at roughly the same time. Unfortunately the only thing its got going for it is that it is conveniently placed. It is uninspiring and is, for me, difficult lighting wise.
If any one can offer suggestions and things to try to make it better please do. Not confident enough to do B & W yet.
I think you've just got to be patient. I'm looking forward to seeing this image as winter moves into spring. X

Is that down from Devizes Road, where they've put the wooden walkway?
An alternative is to find a good tree that's reasonable isolated, and snap it weekly or monthly through the seasons.

@alpacajo Yes it will all start coming to life soon. I am lucky because I can see all this from my office window where I work and out the door and round the corner I’m on the river bank. Just after I took this two swans swam by so I could have had them in the shot. There are duck, geese etc as well so if I am patient there could be lots of opportunities to liven it up a bit. The main problem I’m having just now it that the sky is bright making the trees dark. Maybe I need some sort of graduated filter to darken the sky?

@ch1ppy_m1nton Probably not quite where you are thinking. I could have chosen a better location but this is convenient.
