I went to the local hunt meet last week to try and get some photos. Difficult to be in the right place at the right time especially when most of the time they are in the middle of nowhere.

You really nailed this shot - the soft, subdued lighting, the composition, and your DoF right to the layers of mountains in the background.
You are so right about not knowing where to be for the action. The hunt I went to was contained to two small fields so it was easy to find a good vantage point.
But your hunt was the real deal!
