the crucible of liberty

victory arch at valley forge. why is it called 'victory' arch, when there was no battle fought here? because the hardships the soldiers endured here at valley forge strengthened and unified them. God's providence allowed them to become melded into one army, from 13 individual distinct armies. He also purified and refined them here at valley forge, the crucible of liberty, into men of iron who would not give up.
