dogwood blossoms herald spring, representing new life. they beautifully illustrate Christ's death for our sins: they are in the shape of the cross with red-tinged pierced blossoms, symbolizing the nails in His hands and feet and the blood He shed. there is also a blossom in the center that is reminiscent of the crown forced upon His head. a precious reminder of His sacrifice for me. i'm so thankful.
