i'm so excited for my oldest son! he and his dad have taken off on a road trip to one of the biggest cycling events around here--the 'hotter than hell' 100 mile ride in wichita falls, texas. this shot is of their bikes loaded up in the back of the truck, ready to go. i love that cycling is an interest they share and bond over. this will be my son's longest ride to date, but he's been diligent in his training and i have no doubt he will be a total 'road warrior'!
If I remember fromsome of your other postings, your Son has been preparing for this one. He seems like a young man with dertermination and his eye on a goal to do his best. I hope all goes well, and I too think it's great for your Husband and your Son to have this in common. So many young men today miss out on that bonding, and it is so important. I wish I would have had more opportunitiy to do more of that when my Son was younger. Now I must play catch up, but I am thankful I have the opportunity to do that.
I'm jealous :-) What a great adventure to be shared between father and son! I also love your image. I have a passion for bicycling and am always attracted to cool representations.
great shot and details. Thanks for the info that your son likes crocs and alligators, I posted again one alligator for your son hopes he like it. Regards to him. :)
What a truly fabulous photo, Brett! It just exudes a feeling of speed and power, and I hope they'll have plenty of that for their ride! I agree that forever your son will treasure the memory of this time spent with his dad and what better gift can you give a child?! Ken & our girls loved outdoor activities, and those times are their shared memories...to this day! I look forward to hearing the outcome next week!
What fun that you're just discovering our carriage rides in town! It's one of those pleasing sounds I enjoy, as we sit out back, or even at my computer, watching them go by the open window. It's pretty charming, and another of the many things I'll miss when summer's over!
As a cyclist, I love the cycle pics!!
And what about that time - I can do 25kph average at my best. He has done nearly 34kph average. Was it very hilly?
btw, the shot is sooo cool....
