For the birds...

I was challenged by Summerfield for Get Pushed to "do a "northy" from her july 2014 album - either a likeness, in the style of, or a parody". So I chose this shot of Northy's:

Shame our sky was cloudless this afternoon. Had I done it this morning there were clouds everywhere!
@summerfield Here's my Northy parody. This was a lot of fun, thank you! I hope you don't mind this rather feeble attempt @northy ;-)
I used my macro lens so the dof is quite shallow.

November 22nd, 2014
Lovely :)
November 22nd, 2014
@summerfield Thanks so much, yes it is monopoly houses :) I'm glad you like it. I'm reasonably happy, Northy has big boots to fill so I tried to pick something easy.
November 22nd, 2014
That's awesome!
November 22nd, 2014
Fabulous shot. I didn't notice they were monopoly houses - therefore those twigs must be very very small. Great close-up shot and very creative.
November 22nd, 2014
omg! i just saw this and thought - no way - Sheralee's been to the Muskokas??? this is very very cool... love that those are monopoly houses - how tiny were the sticks?
November 22nd, 2014
This is amazing -- you nailed the @northy image. You did such a clever homage!
November 22nd, 2014
@northy haha thanks so much Northy, glad you didn't mind and I wish I had been to the Muskokas! The sticks were small but still large enough to use a saw.
November 22nd, 2014
@northy Funny thing is (after googling Muskokas) I realise how close I have been. I have been to Toronto, my son-in-law is Canadian and comes from Moose Creek near Cornwall. I've been to Canada when we first met him and then when they were married at Moose Creek in 2007. They now live in Australia.
November 23rd, 2014
gosh - i've never heard of moose creek... i'm going to have to see if i can figure out where it is next time i drive to Montreal (we drive thru Cornwall)...
November 23rd, 2014
@northy it's just a tiny little place but the church there is stunning. It's about a half hour from Cornwall.
November 23rd, 2014
Moose Creek is knew to me as well, but I don't travel east that often. Very northy - great job!
November 24th, 2014
@bella_ss @kass - we must have a photo walk in moose creek! :-)

@bella_ss - i'm sorry you had to do more than photograph these babies. wow! sawing off the branches was too much work! what we do for our projects! aces for you, sheralee. and what do you mean son-in-law? when did you start, 12??? :-)
November 24th, 2014
@summerfield haha of course I was only 12, it's what us outback aussies do ;-) I am so taking you up on the photo walk when my daughter and son-in-law move to Moose Creek! It won't be in the near future as they have child number three about to arrive :)
@kass @northy
