Beautiful Byzantine church dating back to 9th century.
5 domed - 3 aisled - barrel vaulted Basilica making 1 of 2 such church’s on the island.

No photos allowed inside however I have to say it’s the most beautiful painted and cared for interior dating back 8th - 15th century’s.

I’ve been to the services a few times - in the centre of the village square- geroskipou = the garden of Aphrodite.

A very special experience.

Beautiful architecture. Reminded me of the day I was in the village of Droushia. It was a Sunday and I wanted to attend church. There was no catholic mass but I attended the service in this small chapel. I sat down on one side and some were looking at me in a strange way. That's because I am a stranger I thought. Later at the hotel I talked to the receptionist about the experience. She explained that I had sat in the women's section. Bravo!
