Rebirth

Driving thru the burn scar near Los Alamos, N.M. the aspen are coming up here and there. Here they lined the road.

It's hard to believe these are aspens and not bushes. It's surprising how thick they are when young like this and more spread out as they become full size. I wonder how that happens.

The canopy prevents sunlight to shorter trees, thus reducing photosynthesis to lower plants.
