Factory!

Day 66 - These 3 Berber ladies work for a female co-operative and are sitting in their factory making Argan Oil for cosmetics and cooking. The process was very interesting and it was all done by hand, no electric machinery was used. The first lady broke the nut with a sharp rock to release the kernel (the shell is used for animal feed) the next lady took the kernel and placed it in the press which was turned to ground and press the kernel to release the oil, the mush left is also used for animal feed. For culinary use the kernel is roasted before being pressed.
Great street portrait and your notes were so interesting.
