Broken Yet Still Beautiful

Day 140 - This sculpture was created by artists at Centrepieces Mental health Art Project, the sculpture is designed to raise awareness of mental health issues in general.

Copied from a plaque - This art piece has set out to create something both fragile and beautiful which incorporates the possibility of renewing strength and has been influenced by Kintsugi, the ancient art of repairing broken ceramics with gold or silver. Kintsugi translates as 'golden repair' and can be seen as a metaphor for life. As with some mental health issues, by trying to heal our emotional wounds we hope to make ourselves stronger through the process. Mental illness does not have to be defined by the negative and that even broken can be beautiful.

How lovely and the message is beautiful too.

It is still beautiful and it's a lovely shot, Michelle. I liked your explanation, too.
