Day 255 - We were on our way home from our weekend away in Farnborough when we past a a compound containing military planes and helicopters, on closer inspection we saw it was a museum so we pulled in!
The museum is know as FAST (Farnborough Air Sciences Trust) and was opened in 2003 (at this site) in a Grade II listed building which was once the headquarters of the Royal Engineers Air Battalion. The museum holds a collection of aircraft (actual and models), satellites, simulators, records and other unique artefacts dedicated to Farnborough's aviation history.
Great collage. Top left is the Lynx - workhorse of the Army Air Core and my regular taxi in both Northern Ireland and the Balkans. Think the middle, but can’t see the front, maybe a Gazelle, another great little helicopter used by the British Army.
