You are in a boat.
You see a large flock of seabirds shouting on the water - there must be fish.
You start fishing
You are in the main shipping channel
The Brittany Ferry Normandie is heading straight for you.
What you don’t do, is just keep on fishing.

As it happens, these people did move in time.
