Around The World---Mennonite Village

So todays picture goes back to 1988. We had made our way out to Otterborne Manitoba to attend Melody's brothers college graduation. Winnipeg Bible College and Seminary , now called Providence Seminary, is located in the samll Mennonite town of Otterborne which is just a short distance from Winnipeg. Near by is the Historical Mennonite Village. I really enjoy these outdoor museums where you can go back in time and experience what life was like many decades ago
Fun, Brian. I love living museums, too.

This is a neat photo, with the leading lines of the fence and road. I also like outdoor history museums. I've always admired the Mennonites as people who live what they believe--there was a community of traditional Mennonites in Virginia where we lived in 1972-1977. And here in Baton Rouge, they founded a center that worked for peace and justice issues.
March 7th, 2013
Amazingly peaceful looking place :) where I grew up was a very large amish and mennonite community ;) I love their simple lifestyle :)

The Menonieten originaly came from Holland, and this looks like a typical Dutch farmhouse (and landscape!) Thank you for sharing all your travels with us, really joining it!
