Fort Edmonton in Black and White. The Big House by bkbinthecity

Fort Edmonton in Black and White. The Big House

This is a replica of the house that John Rowand built. John Rowand was the Chief Factor of Fort Edmonton, meaning he was in charge of all of the territory from The Rocky Mountains to Winnipeg.
There were people who said that he built this house as large as he did to match his big ego. John Rowand lived here with his wife and three daughters. They also had a couple of live in servants.
The lowest level was the servants quarters. The main floor included dining rooms and offices as well as a large hall. The second floor had sitting rooms, bedroom and four guest rooms. The top floor was used for storage
Great b&w

I do not know if you are on facebook. If you are you can look us up and see a lot more pics. We are listed as Melody-Brian Bigam
