Once Upon a Time

The other day while walking along Whyte Avenue I decided to stop and take a picture of the Strathcona Public Building. This was once home to the South Side Post Office. The clock tower has a clock that was shipped over here from Derby , England in 1913. The Post Office moved out in 1976 and the building sat empty for ten years. Today the building is home to a lovely restaurant on the main floor and a Billiard Room on the upper floor. Over all of these years, even when the building was vacant, the clock has been kept running and is a wonderful landmark in our city
Great shot!!! Cool on the clock, I love time pieces!

Someone was looking after the clock - they had to be! So that is good for the city and whoever looks on this great building!
