Marking the Way

With todays words being stone stack living only a couple of blocks away from this landmark made finding a picture very easy. The Inukshuk is an iconic Canadian sculpture. These are known for being built by the native people of the Canadian Arctic. Traditionally it is believed that these were built as route markers for travelers. The Inuit built them to represent a person.

The word is so different from any other language and the type of statue goes with the natives who use it! They would be called Indians?

The Native Americans here used to bend trees so that they would grow a certain way as guideposts. Good shot!
