I trust you enjoyed this weeks series. Today I will do one last inspiration shot. This inspiration comes from Anita Campbell @aglenncampbell
Yesterday Feb. 19/15 she posted a photo of her family homestead. This reminded me of a trip we made with my Mom when we stopped at the farm she was raised on. Here she is standing in front of the house she lived in with her Dad and two sisters. It was a very small house for four people. Today the people who own the farm have fixed the house up and use it as a guest house. The outside still needed some painting.
Trust you will all have a great weekend
Super one, Brian. I'm with Dixie. I'm fascinated by people's stories and their family's history/heritage. I think one's memories of their background are so important, especially as we grow older... I'm wondering when this was taken and location of the farm? How nice that the house is now being used as a guest house. The new owners have given it new life
(I may post another photo I took of our old homestead house on another throwback Thursday)
@bkbinthecity Oh, OK, thanks! I know exactly where Innisfail and Spruceview are! We go through Innisfail when we go out to my cousins' cabins near Caroline.
That's pretty neat- I wonder if my children and grandchildren will ever drive to the house I grew up and wonder what it was like for me as a child. Funny- it just doesn't have the same ring as when I'd see the house my father grew up in! Nice shot!
Having come to know many photographers on this site , and knowing where they live, it's a nice addition to see some old photos, giving additional depth to their lives!
What a nice photo to have. It is really nice that this house was kept and used for a guest house. I should be doing something like this with iPhoto not easy to use on my sons computer while he works on mine as I have some old photos on his computer.
Nice photo and sounds like a nice memory. I visited the house I grew up in a very long time ago. It was hell getting there as the dirt road it was on was all washed out. It didn't look like they used it any more but the house was still there so I am wondering if they created a road that went up behind the house to a paved road.
