Frozen In Time.....Statues of Edmonton . The Storyteller

So I have decided to do a short series on statues here in Edmonton and the first one is located on the grounds of the old Royal Alberta Museum. It is entitled The Storyteller. Not quite sure why I will leave that up to your imagination
Interesting statue. His hands are very expressive, like a storyteller's might be. But the way he is looking up almost looks like a prayer.

He seems to be set in a nice location and Love the expression he has!

Certainly enigmatic, as you say--lends itself to a story! Here we have much art built around Native American storytellers, though all cultures have their stories, native or immigrant.

@onewing Babs the statue was done by a man by the name of Ollie Holstein, an instructor of Art & Design at Alberta College. It was a gift from the German-Canadian Association to the people of Alberta
It was to honour pioneers of German descent many of whom would have been fabulous storytellers
