Early this morning my aunt, my Mom's older sister, passed away. Her health had not been the best over the past little while and she had been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for a number of years. Melody took this picture of my aunt and I last year in April when my aunt and uncle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Sorry to hear about the bad news. Thinking of you. Alzheimer's ....my husband suffers from this disease now. We know so little about this disease till somebody near you gets it.
What a sweet photo, and it's comforting to know that heaven will be a place of freedom for her from this life's frail body and mind! We received the call last night to hurry to my mother's side, so that is where we are going this morning. Same story.
Sorry to hear your sad news. It sounds like she was an amazing lady and those are the memories you will keep forever. Lovely photo of the two of you to start the memories.
What a beautiful shot to remember her by. I work in a dementia unit so have a lot of experience. I know this is so much harder for the families as they know the person as they used to be. The most horrible disease I think xx
