Yesterday the Edmonton Oilers clinched a spot in the playoffs. The first time since 2006. So l thought I would share this photograph of my father-in-law. He was the very first organist for the Oilers. This photo dates back to 1974 taken up in rafters of what was then Northlands Colosseum.
Wow, a real piece of history! Nice photograph Brian. Do you still have the camera you used back in 1974? Might be interesting to run a film through it just for fun😊
Great shot and fascinating story about him.. How long was he their organist ? I miss "live organ music" at sports stadiums theses days. In the National League baseball only the Arizona Diamondbacks have a "live organist now.
Wow, that's so cool! I miss the days when the only "dead" time entertainment was the organ. Now it's so much ear-splitting snippets of "popular" music all designed to keep the short attention span folks involved and awake. And I really, really miss the old Chicago Stadium and the massive and amazing organ they had there.
Although I am a devoted Ducks fan, I congratulate you and the Oilers on clinching. Good to have some Canadian teams in contention. ;-)
