Travelling Back In Time....Inside Alcatraz

So since l posted a picture yesterday of former US Federal Penitentiary Alcatraz.
I thought you might be interested in seeing. A few more pics of The Rock.
Starting with the top left one of the cell blocks, secondly the outside courtyard that prisoners had to earn the right to use, thirdly was one of the cells used in the escape June 1962 and then the gaurds residence. To avoid boats coming and going to frequently the gaurds would live on the island for set periods of time

I’ve been there several times. It’s eerie and yet lovely since I know I get to leave. Nice collage.

Ken and I visited there once, and it's rather daunting to think of being imprisoned there!

Looks like the guards didn't have it much better, but I know they did as I remember our tour in the '80's as well.
