Day thirteen of my series on Things Canada is Known For. This series would not be complete without posting a Tim Hortons restaurant.
Tim Hortons opened its first donut shop in 1967. Started by Tim Horton who played professional hockey with the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres.
He was killed in a car accident in 1974.
Today there are over 5000 Tim Hortons in 15 countries around the world.
This post is for Francoise @francoise for her mention of Tim Hortons in things she thinks about when she thinks of Canada
donuts! yeah! Yep, I definitely got the idea that Canadians not only liked donuts but that they ate a great many! Maybe to keep warm against the all that cold.
Found a list of the top 10 US states with Tim Horton’s locations and Michigan is number 1…yeah! (204). Arriving at work with a box of tim-bits to share makes one very popular!
Nice shot. I was just saying to Ron yesterday when we drove by a Timmy's that I can't remember the last time I went to one. We used to go all the time when the kids were little for Tim bits!
