I found a hornets’ nest in my shrub the other day. After researching this type of hornet (bald faced) and finding out one sting is the equivalent of the pain of slamming your hand in a moving revolving door, and that is just ONE sting…I paid a professional! He was excited that it is a cool rainy day and no ladders were necessary. When he was done, he opened up the nest to show me the dead queen and the dead larvae and pupae. Also said that a couple stings from these could potentially kill an animal or small human!
Three good things:
1. Professionals
2. He checked all around my house and yard for any other pests
3. He loves his job, and does it well!
Wow good riddance Barbara….live & let live by all means but you don’t want that danger in your garden. Good for the professional guy who knew exactly how to go about it!
Sounds like you called the right man for the job. I read that these particular hornets are rather aggressive and like to go for the face. That would be most unpleasant.
