8-15-21 before the swamp

So we learned today when a large boat sends a wake, do not sit by the edge of the river. We already knew to face into the waves, but if you are too close to shore, the kayak turns sideways, and then you have to sit in wet clothes the rest of the paddle. Also, a portable bilge pump would be helpful! Three good things:
1. We stayed in the kayaks
2. We laughed and laughed
3. Jackburgers and onion rings at Jumpin Jacks can make you momentarily forget about sitting in wet underwear

Oh my! Been there...twice in one day on a canoe camping trip. Lost a camera in the first capsize, and a phone in the second. Good that everyone had a good laugh. Not much else you can do when you've hit the water. ☺
