Terribly rubbish of me uploading another photo from the weekend. Hey ho, fills a blank space! You'd think now am nearing the end, I'd have more ooooph, but its not coming. Sorry for cheating so much ;-)
When I was at university, I tried (badly) doing a project making ugly things more pretty, kind of urban beauty thing. I drove up to the gold coloured Torness nuclear power station on the east coast of Scotland and many other similar idea's. When I saw a power station this on Saturday, it reminded me of the trip there, and the colours of that day. Ahh... those were the days - it was a lot of fun being a uni student in Scotland and having my own beat up car to explore.
Is this near Sheffield? I love Scotland, not been for years. Mostly went to the west coast though and a couple a trips to Edinburgh, where did you study? Oh and nice shot too!
@rich57 Its just off the M62 - near the shopping place, J32? Or is it J31, never remember! I studied in Edinburgh, was a lot of fun - found so many old castles and beautiful beaches - and even went looking for Nessy. Only been back once in the last 12 years tho!
@blightygal yeah Edinburgh is great. Probably in my top 3 UK cities! Don't know M62 shopping (except IKEA!) mainly due to never passing my driving test!!!
Well, I never think them beautiful, but certainly interesting. Timely too as we all think about the future of nuclear energy. It's all I see on the news now.
@rich57@blightygal That's gottp be Drax Power Station.
I have my Top Trumps of British Power Stations to hand, and it used to be a class leader on noxious emissions.
@blightygal DOH!
..well a lot of them have had extra work done on the smokestack where the waste smoke is secondary burned to remove more of the bad stuff.. dunno if Ferrybridge has though.
