Ed pulling up the loose floorboards before he nailed them back down (to make sure no pipes underneath!) as we're laying new flooring next weekend. Leo thought going under the house was a great game, and kept going under and coming up with different amounts of cobwebs on his face and strange metal things stuck to his collar magnet.
My friends spent ages renovating their house and eventually saved up to have the stairs recarpeted. Unfortunately when they got home to the lovely new carpet it was soaking wet - the man had nailed through a pipe. So they took up the carpet and and the stair boards and did and hodge repair. Day after plumber comes, then carpet man remits carpet. So they get home second night and admire their stairs but.....Day 3 the carpet fitter returns to repair the damage done getting the cat out from under the stair boards.....
@judithg OMG, they carpeted the cat in?!! Thats amusing, tho I shouldn't laugh too much, grins. And more grins! We joked about that too, and will tell Ed when he gets back tonight! Unlucky with the nail in the pipe, yeah, got to be careful, I bet they appreciated the carpet in the end even more... lol.
@blightygal Yeah - I think the carpeting man was über grumpy in the end though as both 'catastrophes' were his fault! Made a good story though! Did you read my cat caper on the waxwing shot? She was furious afterwards - apparently it wasn't her fault that curiosity nearly killed the cat again.....
Aww, so sweet. Kitties just have to investigate everything thoroughly don't they? After all, how often do they have the opportunity to look under the floorboards? LOL
I've heard several stories over the years of cats being trapped under floors or in walls. Always best to make sure ALL pets are present and accounted for before pounding those final nails. ;-)
