Buddha belly

Our Lucy, after our play in the snow. So so ladylike!!! Not the best photo quality as done with my mobile in bad light but I loved her pose - she often sits like this :-)

Had to go to the vets yesterday, her leg is still giving her trouble as well as get her renal bloods checked. Sadly the numbers have doubled in just 6 weeks. We've got to go have a SDMA test in a month, which is more accurate for kidneys. Sounds like she's starting her journey of kidney failure, at just 20 months old. Trying to remain positive but it's hard to ignore the obvious - the vet overdose has shorted her life considerably. She'll be lucky to make 4 years old.
Oh poor baby and poor you - so stressful and upsetting. But that is one classic pose.

Well I started smiling and ended very sad. That truly is a terrible situation. Poor Lucy - is it worth trying specialist places? The vet should pay.

@judithg Pets at home vets have now stopped paying any further treatment, I have to now go via their solicitors or try to take them to court. Happy days!

@blightygal there was a dog with a false leg on our park done by Fitzpatrick following a vet error. £100k. Not sure about the morality of that (mostly because it was a year of in patient treatment) but they have liability insurance. Just wondering if any of the vet schools could help. Ours doesn’t over charge.

@judithg That's good to know! Thanks for that.
I've done a lot of reading but not sure much can be done for kidney failure, other than low protein/something else I can't remember right now diet which is very hard to get cats to eat. She's a little monster already with food, esp for one so young!

I have started stocking up on various types/makes/flavs of kidney food to slow down the damage but it's going to be hard to get her to eat any of it. That's pretty much the only option as we don't really do kidney transplants etc in this country - not that I would put her through that anyway.
