A collage of East Berlin street lights. After the fall of the wall, East Berlin starting converting some of their traffic lights to the West Berlin standard, but so many people felt affectionate towards the East Berlin lights that people had to fight to keep them in place.
Very interesting collage. I was in East Berlin in 1969, when of course the separation was in effect. I remember an overall greyness, very few people and fewer cars, and abandoned factories with broken windows. Hope things are better now.
@tristansmum what a good experience you got to have. yes, things are better, but still rife with employment problems and an aging population on the east side (aside from the more trendy areas).
