nightly

song: Rock n Roll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYSXOKwfNjU

"I'm more afraid of the god in me
than the god you pray to nightly"
-Jason Molina

The deity inside
tearing you up
egging you on
are you god?
or are you ego?
It's not enough
to call it either.
The sum of you
The all of you
that you fear.
The capabilities of a man.
The ability of you.
love
hurt
cry
hate
You've dealt out all the cards
laid them on the table.
flush, straight, pairs
everything but a full house.
You are not
a stay-at-home man.
The road calls you
The dream always just
a next turn away.
The deity inside you
urges you onward
and feels
nothing
for turning you away.
-krista.
I have to be honest and say that I don't know what to make of this one Krista. The lyrics carry a profound and somewhat frightening message and the resulting anguish comes through clearly so, full marks for the conception... I'm just not sure that the pixellation works for me. I - and I'm sure you too - would be interested to hear other views.

@vignouse I respect your critique and I am glad that the pixilation stirs an emotion in you even if it is a negative one.

@blueberry1222 Thank you Krista. I hesitated before commenting but a bland 'Nice shot' is not very helpful so I'd rather be honest. I think it's that your words are so profound that they were always going to be a difficult act to follow.

@vignouse I know what you mean. I fall victim of that myself when I am not really brave enough for giving someone a truer critique when there are times when I really should. Perhaps I will do so more often now....

Love your poem and the photo collage is powerful. I really appreciate
your thoughtful and artistic expressions pushing the frontiers and boundaries. The anguish is clearly expressed in the photo and conveys a feeling that another process might miss. Keep up the wonderful creativity

I think the words, and the image go together well. It is very artistic. It has a very emotional feel. I like it.

@vignouse @blueberry1222 yay for honest critique, i guess we know each other well enough now to know when it could be recieved well and when not

I am going to have to go away and digest this image and the poem is yours is it not krista? this is a good thing,,, thought provocation

@kali66 thanx for your kind words, and yes the poem is my own. I agree, honest critique is so welcomed when it comes around so rarely....

did you know this guy?
November 16th, 2014
@kali66 Only through his music and I got sucked into his orbit. I love a good poet as they are so few and far between and he was the best. I saw him live only once. His story is just so damn tragic.
