"Shine on the distance between me and the last thing I see...
Let it be me working
On being a better me...
Let his eyes adjust to the light...
If I'm really what they're saying
I don't want to disappoint them.."
-Jason Molina
Three Plus One
There is the me inside myself.
The I that I show the world.
And the self that people think I am.
I know them all
yet none of them have met.
They would never get along
in a room fit for three.
The I that I think I am
would balk at the me others
think they see.
And the facade that I present
to the world would tear off his mask
and reveal the devil that
I am suspected to be.

Oh, my, what a complete presentation. Everything compliments everything else so very well. I love your poem about the three selves. I taught high school theatre, and I always told my students that to be good actors and put on a convincing character, they had to take off their daily masks that they held up to others. You're the second this week to remind me of this. Check out ~~JT's photo and poem at http://365project.org/voiceprintz/365/2014-12-05 Oh, a fav too.
I missed this when I passed by yesterday, glad I made a another visit today. The image and your words are both incredibly powerful and complement each other perfectly. I love how you put so much emotion into your photography Krista... and it shows.
I still haven't read the article :-)
I can really relate to your poem :)
