I've visited Alcatraz before. Here looked like a worse place to be confined.

A most disturbing experiment in confinement. Many inmates went mad from lack of social interaction, I believe. This is a great perspective and most bleak image.

This is an eerie place. I have seen it on TV when they talked about the history of prisons and this was something new and extraordinary of its time. It still looks extraordinary but with different eyes.

This certainly has a more menacing feel about it than Alcatraz but what horrified me most about the latter is that the cells were only 5 foot square so it was impossible to lay flat...

Never seen Alcatraz, but I was in Saint-Laurent du Maroni in French Guiana where Papillon was detained. This prison seems equally terrible. But your picture is beautiful.

Just t a wretched looking place. Agree with re: Alcatraz. Liked your photo there. Left you a comment. You managed to find a bleak beauty in your photo there. You photo here is just as effective, but there just is no beauty to be found.
