Phoenix's first mural art

This was the artwork that started it all. One day someone painted this mural on a wall and before too long, all kinds of art started popping up all over downtown Phoenix. The photo on the left was taken about six years ago, when this artwork was already over ten years old. The photos on the right is what it looks like today. It appears that the building might be torn down. The next time I go downtown to take photos, this artwork may be gone.
Just love street art :)

I love this type of art. Sometimes the older the better!

I have done something similar, although we don't get that much of good stuff. In Northern Ireland it was used by both sides in the conflict to mark out territory, and was very sectarian.

I'm glad you were able to preserve it. Her earrings are wonderful, and I like the green bottle in the first image. You can see where the fence has gone up prior to the demolition. Oh, how things change over time!

@sandrajo The funny thing is that the green bottle is a 40oz. of beer left by a transient. It's a symbol of real street life in a downtown area.

@blueberry1222 Oh wow, I thought maybe you had put it there for scale or something. Whoever left it could have picked a worse place to stop for a drink. I'll bet that mural is good company.
