View from my car window. This was a scene on nearly every major intersection. Day 4 of teachers strike. Our state needs to value education more and pay our teachers and their staff better. They are one of the least paid teachers in the United States. https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/01/us/arizona-teachers-continue-walkout/index.html
I wish the teachers luck. I heard the other day on Vice News on HBO how the issue is getting politicized because of endorsements by the Teachers Union. I hope that it doesn't become a partisan issue now. We should all be able to unite be a worthy cause regardless of party affiliation.
The same in Italy - school teachers are among the least paid employees, either in public and private schools. Unbelievable, considering the importance of their duty.
Ireland as well, my daughter Sarah and 3 of her friends qualified as teachers a few years back, there was a moratorium on hiring new teachers on full time contracts because of the recession and for short term contracts they only got half pay. Only one is now teaching. Sarah retrained and is now a IT software developer, the economy has recovered and schools are having trouble finding teachers. Its counter productive not to value education, the kids of today are the ones to suffer. Your pictures often get a reaction out of me Krista,
