This saguaro is leaning because it suffered through a rough summer. I really hate to sound like a negative Nancy, but the environment is not good. This summer killed way too many saguaros.

Also, hello to my French friends out there. Stay strong. You all have beautiful and independent minds and no amount of fanaticism can change who you are as a people. Je suis Samuel aussi.
I am with you.

There are more and more of us. May there be only time.

I always wanted to see the saguaros. I wanted to see them when we visited Arizona, but was disappointed to find out they are only in the southern part of the state. Very cool shot.

And as a friend of mine says, it's going to get worse before it gets better. :-(

A beautiful image in spite of this, with lovely hues.

A wonderful shot albeit a sad story.

We can only hope that the earth's biodiversity will survive planetary changes.

We can't take these old warriors for granted, they have lots to tell us. Hopefully we will start to listen before it is too late.

I remember seeing these many years ago when I visited AZ. I was fascinated by them. Too bad I didn't have the kind of camera I have now back then! So sad to hear the conditions of the summer have taken a toll on them. It has been the same here on some of our streams- they are warmer than usual and our native fish are having a tough time coping with it. But somehow nature always seems to survive. And so will we.
