desert spoon by blueberry1222

desert spoon

I have one of these in my yard. It stabs me a lot. This is one in the wild. It's a pretty nifty plant and I have no idea how it's related to asparagus, but it apparently is. Also, I don't know why it's called a "spoon". It has a lot of spikes on it and should really be called a "fork" or even a "knife."

That is a cool looking plant, but stabbiness is no good at all. Hope it doesn't get you too much

Apparently it's molecularly related to asparagus and some other things that are batched together. The leaves have a spoon shaped base, it says here (Wiki), but with all those spines, who's going to check? :D
It reminds me of yucca.

This a step aside plant for me. I always like to show respect to the plants that have spikes and such
