I have one of these in my yard. It stabs me a lot. This is one in the wild. It's a pretty nifty plant and I have no idea how it's related to asparagus, but it apparently is. Apparently it's molecularly related to asparagus and some other things that are batched together. The leaves have a spoon shaped base, it says here (Wiki), but with all those spines, who's going to check? :D
