old tree by blueberry1222

old tree

Still alive. Alligator juniper's bark is usually very distinctive: hard, dark gray-brown, cracked into small square plates superficially resembling alligator skin. It is native to central and northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It grows at moderate altitudes of 750–2,700 m (2,460–8,860 ft) on dry soils. It lives 40-150 years. It is one of my favorite trees.
How positively beautiful, thanks for the explanation.
