Escaped the desert heat for a couple of days and hiked in the northern portion of the state where it's nice and cool. I took this photo of my husband as he was admiring the view and it instantly recalled an image of the painting: Wanderer above the Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich.
Where we were was on the Mogollon rim looking down into West Clear Creek canyon in Arizona.
