Old bills used to be huge. Image the size of the wallet that would be needed today to carry a wad of these. This bill dates from 1913. I got it in a strange way. I bought an old Victor Hugo book from the Phoenix Library bookshop. The book was printed in the 1930's (depression era) and someone had stuck this bill in there. I'm guessing that no one read the book since the day that person put the bill inside. This bill alone is probably worth more than the money that I had to spend to get the book. They are very collectible and are considered to be rare because ten dollars was a lot of money in 1913. That is the same as $311.91 today, after you adjust for inflation. Apparently, very few 1913 $10 bills still exist because they were incredibly expensive to save.
