In memory

I went to the Prescott 4th of July parade on Saturday. This year marks the 10-year anniversary when a wildfire overran and killed 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshot crew.

The event happened really fast and is a tragic story. They were deploying fire shelters when the fire overtook them. Temperatures exceeded 2,000 degrees F, and the deployment site was not survivable.
