I would love to have mountains, lakes, palm trees, oceans or even a desert to take photos off but unfortunately there aren't any around here. Welcome to my world....endless cornfields and barns on every corner....so here's yet another one! I was trying to figure out what that piece of farm equipment is in the foreground but I haven't a clue, maybe an old plow or wagon??? All I know is it's been sitting in that spot for quite a long time! :)
Absolutely fantastic - it's cause you see this stuff all the time, but for us, it's new and beautiful. I love the different layers of this pic - the interesting piece of equipment in the foreground, the lines of corn stalks, the barns and then the trees and sky. it's fav.
Well, I lived in Indiana for 20 years, so it is what it is. I actually got used to it and began to like it. So, now I'm in Ohio. Same thing. Good. Comfort zone. It has its merits. You shoot it well. Keep it up.
This is just beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing your lovely world with us!!! I love the rows of dried grasses, the snow everywhere, the red barn, the old farm equipment... Wonderful shot!!!
This is amazing! I love everything about it! The composition, the barn, the snow...it's great! I can never get too tired of barn shots! They are all unique in their own way!
I love the world you live in! I see you have a slight gradient in your country, that's more than I can say. My world is flat and bare... I love the romantic feel in this picture! You live in a great part of the world!
You do your world exceptionally well, Paula. My world is an urban neighborhood and tall buildings. I love, love seeing your remarkable presentations of the rural side of life.
Fabulous shot; great processing. Love your rural pics.
Thanks for your comments on my photos. In answer to your question: yes, we do have sharks to worry about, but we figured that the sea was too rough for them to come in close on that day. Generally hope they'll stay out beyond the first breakers when it's choppy.
I'm actually extremely happy that these old barns seem to touch others too. Many of them are so old and weathered I fear they will soon lose the battle against time and the elements. It will be a sad day when they no longer dot the rural countryside. Thank you again for all the kind comments.
Haha, I know what you mean by being afraid of 'boring' people. I've got all these amazing pelican shots and am afraid to put them up because I might become known as the 'pelican lady' or something! You can be the 'barn lady' and I'll stick with pelicans. If they're well taken I don't think anyone will complain, and yours are beauties.
iowa!! born and raised and still living here!
iowa had many lovely place to photograph--beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!
especially old barns and corn fields!
And i was just thinking i'd love to have what you have with all this wide open, gorgeous countryside. The grass is always greener (or the snow is always whiter ) I guess! I love this photo.
